Dr. Rudolf Apenbrink
Dr. Rudolf Apenbrink, born in 1963, was a member of the Board of Management of HSBC Germany and responsible for the Asset Management and Private Banking divisions.
He began his career at HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt in 1993 after completing his Master of Arts in Business Administration at the University of Georgia (USA) and completing his doctorate at the University of Vienna. As a customer advisor, he held various positions in the Global Markets division. After stays abroad in London and Hong Kong, he switched to Fixed Income Portfolio Management at HSBC Global Asset Management (Deutschland) GmbH. From 2007 to 2010 he was CEO of HSBC Global Asset Management Asia-Pacific in Hong Kong. From 2011 to 2020 he was Regional CEO HSBC Global Asset Management EMEA. In 2015 he was appointed to the board of HSBC Germany. And in 2020 he was appointed European Chairman of Global Asset Management. As part of his academic work, he has published in the Journal of Finance, among others.
