Benedikt Fabian Ballensiefen is Assistant Professor for Investments at the University of Cologne since November 2024. His primary research interests are in the areas of asset pricing, monetary policy, and market structure. His research has been published in leading academic journals such as The Review of Financial Studies and The Review of Asset Pricing Studies and has been presented at leading academic conferences such as the American Economic Association, American Finance Association, and European Finance Association annual meetings. Benedikt obtained his PhD (summa cum laude) from the University of St. Gallen / Swiss Finance Institute, his dissertation entitled "Essays on Short-Term Funding Markets" provides important insights into the dynamics of financial markets. In addition, Benedikt has international experience, such as with the World Bank Group focusing on financial markets and development.
